You is kind. You is smart. You is important.

I went and saw The Help this afternoon. I laughed, I cried (bawled, actually). Just LOVED the movie. Movies that do that, that transport me away from my life and my day and captivate me into the world they've created are just absolute blessings. And the fact that it is based on truth, that there was a time in this world where African American men and women were not treated as equals, makes it even more shocking. To think that that time happened during my parent's lifetime is just unfathomable.

Everyone in the film was amazing. I can't sing the movie's praises enough. It's going to be one of those films that I tell people to go see over and over again.

It's raining again today. It sure has been a rainy past couple of weeks. Atleast the air is nice and cool coming in the windows.

Tonight is True Blood and then I'll do some reading and then bedtime and then I wake up and have another week of work. I guess the positive side is knowing that after this week I have a short the following week and then I'm off for ten days. Always look for the silver lining.

The title of this post is the line that Viola Davis' character Aibileen says to the little girl she's raising for the family she works. "You is kind. You is smart. You is important." Just thinking about that movie makes me start to get emotional again. Now I have to read the book...
