So it turns out that Hurricane Irene was all talk and no action. She settled into NYC overnight and by the time I woke up on Sunday morning, it was just lightly raining. No flooding, no downed trees, no power outage. Just a ton of boring time on my hands. Thankfully the gym was open so I had something to do yesterday. I also dropped in on the Barney's Co-op Sale - which for the second time going, is absolute shit. I do not know how people find anything worthwhile at that stupid sale. It's like a bunch of clothes from TJ Max all being sold for hundreds of dollars. I'm sorry, but if I'm going to spend 300 bucks on a jacket, I don't want to have to dig for it in a bin in a basement, fighting off German tourists just to get it and then discover that the jacket isn't that great to begin with.
I realized I forgot to blog yesterday. That's how bored I was. I was so bored yesterday I couldn't even take a nap. And I was just eating like there was no tomorrow. All that stupid food I bought because I thought I was going to be stuck inside for days on end was just sitting there, taunting me, begging me to eat it. So I did. I felt a big bloated and fat today at work.
I watched the Video Music Awards last night. They sucked except for Adele and Beyonce, who announced she was pregnant. The two of them were the best part of the show, which was pretty craptastic the say the least.
Today, for some reason, everything on the way home from work started pissing me off. The bikers on the bike lane, the fact that my barber shop guy wasn't there so I couldn't get my hair cut, the fact that the people on the sidewalk were all walking like assholes, the fact that there were so many cute guys at the gym and not one of them is sleeping with me, the fact that the gym was uber crowded because people didn't go over the weekend... and on and on and on. I did a half hour lower body workout and got the hell outta the gym, picked up some groceries and got home. Which is where I sit now.
It's not even 8 o'clock and it's already dark. It was also incredibly cool out this morning. A brisk 60 degrees. Labor Day weekend, and my final time at my summer share on Fire Island - the very last weekend at 11 Ocean - is in a mere three days. The end of summer is definitely upon us. It is always bittersweet to me.
