Coming off of Madonna's birthday yesterday I gather my brain was starving for some music that wasn't Madge-related. And since we have a bit of time to wait until we get new Madonna music, I have had to find other aural pleasures. One being the new song by Jessie J called Dominio. It's produced by Dr. Luke who did all of Katy Perry's California Dreams album and it even sounds a bit like Teenage Dream. I've been addicted to it. I literally keep singing it in my head. It's sooo freakin good. And I guess that's why they got Dr. Luke to produce for her, cuz he certainly knows what he's doing. God bless him for being able to come up with hooks and songs that just grab you and draw you in and keep you wanting more.
It was such a nice day outside today and since I was trapped indoors at work all day, I thought having a nice little cocktail on the XES patio would be nice. My friend Antonello met up with me and my other friend Colin decided to join up as well. It was nice to be out of the house and not just sitting watching tv but instead out and about socializing. The only drawback was I headed over there directly from the gym and just had a protein shake afterwards. My body is not used to going without food for as many hours as it did this evening. On my way home I bought chicken and grilled it up and had it with some hummus. I don't really like eating at 11pm at night, but I could not go to bed hungry.
Speaking of the gym, I actually went up and approached the cute trainer at NYSC today. His name is Nathan. He was finished with a client and it just seemed like the right time to finally go up and ask him about his rates. While they're basically what I expected, I'm still wondering if it will be worthwhile. I sometimes feel like trainers are for the misinformed and lazy. I am certainly not one of those people. But I also think that two months of working with a trainer once a week might be a nice boost to my body. And investing in my body is worth the money to me. Plus, he's hot, so that's always a good thing. :)
